Expedition Log.1 "Preface"

I belonged to Ski club when I was a high school student. There were a few members when I was a first year student, and there were none who was a first year student except me. Older students didn’t have passion to invite students, so after they dropped out, I was only a member of the club finally. There came a crisis that our (my) ski club was on the verge of breaking up. Finally, I found the way to break through this crisis.
First was to give students lots of information about my club. The way to archive this is to pass out and post bills. Simple, but important, specific, and accurate information was in the bill.
Second was to present students about my club. It was not enough to understand my club by just reading the bill. So it was important to make a speech to students directly.
Third was to answer no matter how trivial the question was.

Then, as a result of my efforts, the number of my club member increased, and we could participate in many ski meets.

I think it is important to find a right way to break through problems and blocks from my experience. But if the way is wrong, you may not succeed. So please make sure you have to get the right way.

  1. Hi Shaw,

Thanks for being the first (I believe) to make a second post.

Your anecdote about your ski club is a great illustration of what one person can do to turn around a bad situation, and I appreciate you sharing the exact details of what it took to make it happen: advertising, making a speech, and answering even the most trivial questions. This is something we can all learn from, that doing everything we can and paying attention to the smallest details is key to success.
